A black swan on the pond

This was taken at Centennial Parklands sometime ago in the afternoon.  While strolling in the vast space of the park, which was big enough for me to explore for a short time only before I went to next place, I ran into number of birds such as ducks, Australian white ibis, and black swans and more.

I am not good at capturing moving objects.  The swan on the photo was just floating quietly.  But due to my position against sunlight which started to setting down, it turned an uneasy shooting for me hence it was a good lesson time. 🙂

I processed this into monochrome.  This was another a bit challenge because the swan herself was colored in black so I wanted to see how she will be featured.

Yes, this is the outcome.

This photograph is my submission to Leanne Cole’s Monochrome Madness this week.  Every Thursday she gets her space open for other photographers and their monochrome images.  It is great opportunity for me to see their excellent photographs lined up every week.  Please visit and check her web site if you are interested. 🙂
